Toy Registration

As per notification dated 1st September 2017 given by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Import of Toys (all items under EXIM Codes 95030010 ,95030020 , 95030030 and 95030090) shall be permitted freely when accompanied by the certificate that acknowledges the toys being imported are confirmed to the standard given by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards ).Check Notification.

As per notification products are to be tested from a NABL Certified lab, a conformity test report is issued which is valid both for manufacturing and import.

Toy Order 2020 (Scheme-1 ISI)

Recent notification dated 25th February 2020 states that the certification process for toy will fall under Scheme –I of Schedule -II of BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Please check the Toy E- Gazette also called Toy Order 2020 applicable for all Toy Manufacturers.

All toys and material designed in play for children under 14 years of age are covered under the scheme and should contain the ISI mark post registration.

  • Step 1: Verification of Manufacturing Unit on BIS Portal.
  • Step 2:Submission of Documents in BIS
  • Step 3: Organised Inspection of Manufacturing Unit
  • Step 4: Inspection and Collection of Samples
  • Step 5: Testing of Product in BIS authorized lab
  • Step 6: Scrutiny of Test Report
  • Step 8: Grant of Registration - ISI Certificate.
